Advanced Scrum Master Coaching Package

by

26 March 2013

I have been invited to Growing Agile‘s Advanced Scrum Master Coaching course which is set to take place on 18-19 April 2013. I have heard so many exciting things about Sam and Karen’s exciting training energy and style. Classes are restricted to twelve people, ensuring loads of face time with the facilitator’s.

This ensures high quality interactions, and discussions relevant to your job as a Scrum Master. The focus is on the essential skills needed to perform well as a Scrum Master rather than on the mechanics of Scrum. For 3 months after the course, participants will receive ongoing coaching in the form of coaching circle calls. Every second week you will meet with 5 other active Scrum Masters and an expert coach. These calls provide practical guidance as you apply learnings from the course in your specific environment.

I am really looking forward to learning especially the following from these great coaches:

  • Learn to identify and resolve impediments that are holding your team back
  • Experiment with facilitation techniques and receiving feedback from peers to improve
  • Understand intrinsic vs extrinsic motivators to help create an engaging environment
  • Prepare and run engaging retrospectives
  • Motivate your team to do astounding work
  • Give and receive feedback in a way that ensures that people act on the feedback
  • Play to your personal strengths to get the best from your team
  • Get expert coaching every 2 weeks on any difficulties you are facing
  • Practice your learnings from the course with guidance from an expert coach
